MEET THE OWNER/DIRECTOR

Jenn Hennessy

Owner & Artistic Director

Jenn Hennessy has been immersed in the art of dance since the age of three. With training in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop, she developed a strong foundation in diverse dance styles. She began competing at age twelve and earned numerous regional and national dance titles throughout her competitive career.

Her love for the performing arts led her to Simpson College, where she studied Theatre. In 1991, she followed her dream and opened her first dance studio in Des Moines.

In 2003, Jenn became certified through Dance Masters of Mid America, earning a Master’s Certificate in Dance Education. She currently serves as the President of Dance Masters Chapter #34 in Iowa. This year, she proudly celebrates 34 years of teaching the art of dance.

Beyond the studio, Jenn shares her expertise as a judge and tabulator for Talent On Parade, and she is one of the original master class teachers for Dance Directive. She is also a current choreographer for the Iowa Dance Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker.

Many of Jenn’s students have gone on to pursue professional careers in dance and performance across the country. She is a highly sought-after choreographer, recognized locally and in surrounding states, and has earned numerous awards for both her choreography and her students’ title performances at regional and national competitions.

With her well-rounded dance education and deep commitment to the arts, Jenn provides her students with the tools to excel in all styles of dance. Sharing her passion for dance and nurturing the next generation of performers remains her greatest joy.
